Monochrome with red trashpo, prints and tape transfers from Eduardo Cardosa

Many thanks for this beautiful addition to Monochrome, semitone, kodachrome exhibition!

There are no spiders in this web - Guido Vermeulen

There are no Spiders in This Web (a cityscape)

The Night of the Hunter

Always so pleased to have an entry from Guido  - a beautiful original, a printed card 4/100 and a poem!

From Fleur Helsingor

This is a beautifully haptic piece from Fleur.  It is a braille of bricks… your finger rubs across the surface and dips into cut-away stones and the furry moss of … Fleur makes me wonder  if you can hum a tune by looking at bricks? Thank you!

From Silvano Pertone c/o psyche out fanzine

Silvan also sent me a note.  He's asking for (i think) stamps and football stickers. Many thanks, Silvano!

From Pedro Bericat - Gimme some loving!

One of my faves.  How did Pedro know? A sound that takes me back to dancing barefoot on the grass… Monochrome semitone, for sure. To see more of what Pedro is up to visit: http://www.mutesound.org Many thanks!

TICTAC colour and tone

I received a piece from TICTAC (and Marie) via RCB and Cheryl Penn when Cheryl held her Mail Art Makes the World a Town exhibition in Durban. Since then I have admired her work from the sidelines, checking into the blog: http://tac-tictac.blogspot.com to see the amazing stuff sent and received.

Not long ago I made a piece for TICTAC.  I got this in response for MSK!  A characteristic of TICTAC's work is the attention to detail. the way she crosses media and genres and the beauty of everything.
I worked gingerly to unwrap the piece.

This colourful print is officially for MSK.  Many many thanks!  This will look fabulous at the exhibition!
I nearly forgot the boekie! My gorgeous monochrome piece (that had to be photographed instead of scanned)!

Monochrome print by Victor Femenías

Victor has sent me work for three of the mail art calls I've made and I am very grateful to receive this treasure, executed in 2013: Claro de Luna en Paine 3/30. I can feel the weight of the light, the awe of the landscape and love the tonality.

To see more work by Victor visit: http://victorfemeniasvonwilligmann.blogspot.co.uk
Many many thanks!

Raymond Delattre French language test

As Raymond is a new correspondent, I have placed this in MSK, rather than The Postal Ledger. This may be in error.  Language is a music and Raymond makes music with his words.

As if etched in stone: mono-semi tone... from Richard Baudet

This envelope from Richard Baudeet has the appearance of being haptic, and if you have very sensitive fingers, I suppose it is, but Richard is a master of illusion.  He makes space recede and come forward, and etches his calligraphy into the stony surface of paper. He conjures up very ancient times with this envelope! I love the asemic creatures too!

My internet is problematic at the moment, none in the studio for a moment, and I see I didn't scan the beautiful detail on the back, so hopefully will at a later date.

Floating Kodachrome Music x 2 by Katerina

I received a very Kat response to Monochrome, Semitone, Kodachrome! Look at the watercolour background - BLUE. Kodachrome slides zero in on stamps of joy.  I imagine the music.  Where is my daughter to play it on the violin?  The stamps, colourful tracing a path that Katerina has taken. Thank you!

Borderline Grafix - Safety film

A beautiful spool of mail art arrived from BG! The frames are cinematic as they unfold. BG's piece speaks to me of memory, ambiguity and what we focus on in our viewfinders of life.  I love the washed out feel and all the repetition!  Great stamps too! Thank you BG.  Can't wait to hang this one!

From Diane Keys - Elgin

Back of cards featuring DKULT tape!

From Carina Granlund - for MY 'project'

You don't need a slide projector to read Carina's stories and they are in technocolour!

Inside a slipcase I find

and unfold a beautiful book that feels slide inspired.  I suspect the adventures these characters get up to are more exciting than those family slides I have languishing in the attic… and then a squirrel eats a nut.

Goodbye Carina, I hear the fan beat, steps on the stairs and the choke of exhaust. And THANK you for this delicate yet robust addition to my project!
